What's New?

COMPanion is pleased to announce the release of KeepnTrack 2.80.3 on November 21, 2015. This is a major update offering improved performance, reliability, and new features.

This update includes the following changes and enhancements:

  • Workstation Management. Printing behavior has been simplified and improved to give more control to individual workstations. Workstation Management is now where you set what printer is used for badges or slips, the right/left roll behavior for each printer, as well as print behavior—Always Print, Don’t Print, or Ask to Print—for each classification that may use the station for Sign In.
  • Activity Management. Activity Management has been redesigned for clarity and ease of use. For each activity, you can now set the Print Format drop-down menu to Badge, Slip, or None—this determines the print type, so when someone signs in to that activity, Workstation Management can match it to the correct printer.
  • Express Kiosk. KeepnTrack now offers an entirely new interface, called Express, dedicated to quickly checking multiple people in or out of a specific activity, such as an assembly.
  • Volunteer Verification Procedure. The VVP module has been reintroduced with a new and improved user interface.

Special Considerations

This update absolutely requires that operators be aware of the upcoming changes; you will need to review several settings specific to your system and individual workstations prior to using KeepnTrack as usual the first time after the update.

Please review the following for a list of things to consider prior to this update:

  • New Workstation Management Printer Settings. Workstation Management has new configurable Station and Printer settings; these need to be reviewed and reconfigured for each Kiosk on a station-by-station basis. This means that one Self-Service Kiosk may only allow you to print badges for enrolled visitors while an entirely different one has printing completely disabled. Please see our Printing Setup guide for more detailed information.
  • New Activity Management Window. Along with an overhaul of the interface, each activity now has it's own associated Print Format (e.g. Badge, Slip, and None). In tandem with the new Workstation Management settings (described above), be sure to configure your new activity and classification print options.
  • New Express Kiosk. Familiarize yourself with the new Express Kiosk and make sure you know how to configure and access it. Please note that the previous ability to Enable Express Check In from the Attended Kiosk is no longer available.
  • New Interface for the Volunteer Verification Procedure. Familiarize yourself with the new Volunteer Verification Procedure and make sure you know how to configure and access it.
Improvements

Kiosk

  • Workstation Preferences have been enhanced so that separate settings can be configured for each individual module, such as Self Service or Express, within a single browser.
  • Implemented a Self Service Workstation Management preference to allow or disallow sign in or sign out.

Reports

  • Improved classification selection options in numerous reports and utilities.
  • Implemented Visitor Information report category and information reports.
  • Added Effective and Expiration Date selection option for applicable person information reports, utilities, and exports.
  • Added Creation Date selection to applicable person information reports.
