Operators include District Administrators, Librarians, Student Aids, and more. Essentially, they are people with more program permissions than regular patrons.
Adding new operators to Alexandria is the same process as adding patrons, with the addition of changing their Security Group.
Security Groups (assigned to individuals using the Patrons management window) determine what actions operators or patrons are permitted to perform. By default, Administrator-level access are the only security groups that allows you to do this.
The District Administrator security group has full access to all areas of the program. For that reason, it can't be modified or deleted.
Only District Administrators can make other patrons District Administrators. If you get a new District Administrator but didn't have the old one grant those permissions before they left, contact our Support team at _______________. They will confirm the new District Administrator's identity and grant those permissions.
If you have students or regular patrons help in the library sometimes, they can be given .
Consider creating one general Student Aide account for all assistants
DA cannot be changed; has full access to program; everything else is totally customizable
username and password set; recommend a separate patron w/ a user and pass not tied to circulation; special access one
student aide - general account
multiple logins - see who's doing what (contact support to look at logs or export when that's a thing)
make sure groups and levels are correct
