A SIS (Student Information System) helps schools and districts manage student rosters across multiple applications. Rather than constantly updating student information in five different places, districts can use a SIS to sync student information from one place. While using a SIS with Alexandria, your patron records are automatically updated each day to reflect what's changed. When different third party software applications can communicate with each other, access one another's database, resources, and tools, a school district can more effectively serve the needs of its students and teachers.

Alexandria supports three Student Information Systems:

Clever is a third-party service used by school districts to facilitate the secure transfer of student rosters between their school information system (SIS) and digital learning applications. Districts maintain complete control over their data, including what they send to Clever and how it is shared. Applications will only receive the data they need, nothing more. Clever only syncs roster data—no grades, attendance, health records, etc.—so you don't have to worry about the wrong information getting in the wrong hands. It's even FERPA compliant!

Global Grid for Learning (GG4L) is a K-12 industry collaborative that provides schools with various EdTech tools, including the secure exchange of school roster data between applications. With all of your student information syncing from one place, there's no need to manually update rosters in multiple applications.

The Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) is not a product and is not sold as such, rather, it's an industry-supported technical protocol that ensures that diverse primary and secondary (K-12) instructional and administrative software applications share information (data formats) and work together seamlessly, saving tremendous amounts of time and productivity.

Note

You can only use one SIS at a time in Alexandria. When one is enabled, the others are disabled.
