Highlights


Expanded patron nickname usage. The Nickname field in patron records helps you keep track of patrons’ preferred names. Previously, it was only visible in Circulation and Patrons Management. But now we’ve expanded its usage to patron-facing interfaces!

  • Activity

Also, any library emails sent to patrons will be addressed to their nickname.

Important

Warning

If you self-host on a Mac, hold off updating your servers to macOS 10.15 Catalina. Alexandria may will be 64-bit compatible in an upcoming release.

New & Improved

Circulation
  • Added hosting server name to the Special > System Info tab.
Import
  • Titles will no longer be occasionally changed when updating copy information through an import.
Items
  • Updated Alexandria terminology for the 653_a, 658_a, and 521_a MARC tags to be clearer:
    • 653 - Index Term - Uncontrolled (Bibliographic)
    • 658 - Index Term - Curriculum Objective (Curriculum)
    • 521 - Target Audience Note (Interest)
Patrons
  • Expanded the use of patron nicknames to Self-Service, Status, Activity, and library emails.
Preferences
  • Renamed Extras to Services.
Reports
  • Reports run in the Email format will now send correctly.
Utilities
  • Updated all summary files to be more consistent, clear, and accurate.
