This update brings some re-imagined interfaces with never-before-seen features to Scout, Slideshow, MARC editors, and more. We have also made numerous smaller improvements throughout the user interface and in our backend technologies.

• Slideshow. Introducing layouts and transitions to Slideshow! Choose between two layouts with large cover art, and set the transition type you like for that slideshow. You can even name your Slideshow for your site. Slideshow can also be viewed on mobile.
  
  
• Scout. Scout, currently accessible as a beta preview at /scout2, has an attractive new interface with numerous technological upgrades, which can now be used on mobile devices. New capabilities include the ability to log in, place holds, and to grow or shrink the cover art.
  
  
• MARC Editors. The MARC view in Item Management has been updated to be more reliable and easy to use. We've added new editors for Genre and Series, and the Subjects tab now supports tags 600, 610, 611, 630, 650 and 651.

Version Numbering Change

Beginning with 7.17.7, we are modifying our versioning scheme to better coincide with scheduled monthly updates. We now use the following:

• 7 = Series Version ; xx = Academic Year, beginning in June ; yy = Month
• For example, 7.17.7 means:
  
  • 7 = Series Version
  • 17 = 2017 Academic year
  • 7 = The seventh monthly update

You can check this in Sites Management; the number of total sites plus the Union Site shows at the top, and the number you have licensed is at the bottom. (The Union Site does not require an additional license.)

• Administrative archives are now located within the specified Controller Archive directory.

Circulation

• Restored the correct reply-to address for emails sent to COMPanion through Alexandria.
• Added a dialog which will be displayed when a lost book is paid for and then returned.
• Updated Circulation Statistics so renewals are no longer counted as checkouts.
• Added a scannable barcode to Patron Details.

Extras

• Due to changes in how OverDrive titles are retrieved and stored, we are re-acquiring title records from OverDrive for all subscribed accounts. This process will happen automatically following the update, and could take up to 24 hours for all of your OverDrive items to be obtained and searchable. This will restore the ability to locate new additions in search results and check availability. You should not experience any downtime.
• Restored support for the automatic import of item records from Mackin.

Import & Export

• Added ability to import the patron card expiration date when using a field header.
• Corrected an issue in which copies NOT of the specified status being included when exporting by status.

Management

• Redesigned the MARC editor. Added new editors for genre and series, and improved editor usability for the terms and notes fields.
• Added the ability to reorder 856 tags for the MARC record in Items > Titles > Other.
• Improved copy field searching, and added support for previously unavailable search options, such as Copy Location and Shelving.
• Improved Authority Control auto-completion, and added support for this feature to the Terms and Notes fields in Item Management.
• Improved the Move Copy utility, located in Items Management > Actions > Move Copy, to include a barcode list and range options.
• Restored the keyboard paste functionality in the Patron and Item Management windows.

Miscellaneous

• Various aesthetic improvements, technology upgrades, and minor bug fixes.

Researcher

• Group Search is now correctly displaying the Advanced Search tools.
• Updated search results so the first four 600, 610, 611, 630, 650, or 651 subject tags can be tagged and will display correctly.
• Search functions now correctly queries and retrieves the first four 600, 610, 611, 630, 650, or 651 subject tags.
• Updated Call Number searching to use a "begins with" search style by default.

Reports

• Centralized Catalog users can switch sites to quickly locate any saved reports in connected client data folders.
• Added a Policies Summary report, so you can view all of your policy configurations in one place.
• Updated the Unused Barcode Labels report so custom text will print. 

Utilities

• Implemented a utility to check in archived copies.
• Enhanced the existing Check In utility with an additional patron barcode selector.
