Tip for: 03.14.16

A student is checking out a book and points out that someone has colored one of the pages green. O who hath caused this?! Well, the first clue is quick to find—you can see who last checked this book out!

Copy Stats

  • In Circulation, type x and scan the barcode (e.g. x12345).
  • The item will show in the Current Item pane.
  • Click on Copy Stats at the bottom of the Current Item pane.
  • Alexandria will show you the last 5 people who checked the item out.

Now you know the last person who checked the book out, and he’s probably the one who colored that page green. You can make yourself a note or add a patron alert to remind you to ask him about it. I’m not sure how you are going to confront him when he looks so innocent… I’ll leave that up to you. Meanwhile, you can add a note to the book, to remind yourself and any other librarian that the egreengious deed has already been dealt with.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
